We had an amazing experience with Barker-Ewing Scenic Float Trips! The float trip was absolutely beautiful, with incredible views of the Tetons along the way. Our guide, Michael Inman, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience even more enjoyable by sharing interesting information about the area and wildlife.
This was easily one of the best experiences we had on our trip, and I would highly recommend Barker-Ewing to anyone visiting the area. A beautiful, relaxing, and memorable way to experience the Tetons!

We had a wonderful float trip with Barker Ewing. Our guide, Travis, did a terrific job handling our raft during some tough, windy conditions. The trip had the amazing panorama of the Teton Moutains most of the time.

Fantastic 8 am float trip with Neil as our guide. Saw Moose, otters, eagles, kestrel, heard bull elk bugling and although we didn’t see them it was still cool. Highly recommend!!

Barker-Ewing Float Trips offers one of my favorite ways to experience Grand Teton National Park. A guided scenic float down the Snake River puts you right into a part of the park that looks and feels completely different from what you experience from the highway or the major overlooks.

As the author of the Jackson Hole Hiking Guide and 50 Jackson Hole Photography Hotspots, I’ve explored Grand Teton from just about every angle, and seeing it from the river is special. You get spectacular views of the Teton Range while floating through the valley, along with excellent opportunities to see wildlife and photograph the landscape from perspectives you simply can’t get from the road.

The scenic sections of the Snake are peaceful rather than a whitewater adventure, which gives you time to actually look around. Wildlife varies from trip to trip, of course, but that’s part of the fun. You’re moving through genuine wildlife habitat rather than visiting an attraction where anything is guaranteed to appear.

The Barker-Ewing staff has always been excellent in my experience. Having a knowledgeable guide handling the river also means you can spend your time watching wildlife, looking at the mountains, taking photographs, and simply enjoying the trip.

Their location in the Grand Teton visitor center area is easy to access, with plenty of nearby parking, making the logistics surprisingly simple for such a memorable national park experience.

I’ve done an enormous amount of hiking, climbing, skiing, and exploring throughout the Tetons, but floating the Snake River remains one of the best low-effort, high-reward ways I’ve found to experience the park.

Barker Ewing Float Trips is a MUST DO in the Grand Tetons! This tour was my family’s favorite part of our trip. It was an incredible experience, with exceptional service and breathtaking views. Ask for James, he was awesome!

James was a great guide, super friendly and knowledgable. We saw other tour companies squishing 12 people on a raft. Ours was kept at 8. So nice to have room, and felt like we had the entire river to ourselves!

We took this trip with Michael as our guide. It was the highlight of our trip. He was so informative, with great stories and skillful at navigating the raft. Highly recommend adding this to your Grand Teton/Yellowstone itinerary.

Our guide, James, was skilled and experienced, and it showed. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the area — the wildlife, the history, the mountains — and a wonderful storyteller on top of it. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that made the whole trip even better.

What a great way to see remote areas of the Grand Teton National Park. It was a leisurely float down the Snake river with an excellent guide (ours was Grant), no rapids, only clear skies and open views of the Grand Teton Mountain range and the wildlife on the river.

My family of four did a 8am scenic float trip and it was amazing. Breathtaking views, and our guide Aaron was a great source of knowledge. Very glad I chose them over the others!!!

So glad that I chose Barker-Ewing for my float trip. Although the weather was lousy & we didn’t see much wildlife (this was a noon trip), the scenery was still stunning. But what really made the trip so special was our guide Michael. With 28 years of experience guiding & growing up in the area his knowledge of the park, the river, the wildlife, was outstanding. Our guide James made sure that we had a great time out on the river. Although it was a little cloudy, we saw Moose, Eagles, and geese… lol. This company knows their stuff and floats through the National Park itself. We really enjoyed our time and had such a peaceful experience floating the river.

It was fantastic. It was a beautiful morning and the views were amazing. Our guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the region and the overall landscape and ecosystem. I can’t remember his name, however we took the 8am float on Sunday 8/19.

Travis was great! Great personality & interacted with the group so well. Would definitely do it again.

Tour started promptly at 6pm. The spot was easy to find with the directions that were given. They drove us about 10 miles up the road to start the float ride, then dropped us off where we parked. Jens was super knowledgeable about all things Tetons, Snake River, and the area in general. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Tetons National Park.

We floated on 7/15/2026, it was our third float with Barker-Ewing and awesome as it was the previous two times. We can't say enough good things about Barker-Ewing! Extremeley professional, curteous, responsible, safety concience, and on-time. James was our river guide and made the trip very enjoyable for all aboard with his knowledge of the area, the river, and a little humor. The views of the Tetons are incredible and breathtaking! We highly recomend Barker-Ewing for for an absoluteley perfect experience of the Sanke river and the Teton mountains

I highly recommend this river float and using this organization. They were very professional, polite, and very informative. You can tell that our guide really loves his job and is passionate about being a river guide and sharing nature with people.

We had a great time on the Barker-Ewing scenic float trip! We had a group of 8, so we were all on one raft with our guide, Neil. He was a great guide who shared knowledge of the area with us, and let us enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Neil also spotted animals for us, so we got to see bald eagles, local birds, and moose! Every turn provided gorgeous views of the Teton mountain range. It was a warm day, but on the water the temperatures were perfect with the breeze. We all loved our scenic float tour and would do definitely do it again!

Awesome trip all around! Michael was incredibly knowledgable, having conducted this float for many years, but extremely passionate about what he does and how he does it. Doing the float within the park itself was truly a game changer as well as the connection with nature. Highly recommend Barker-Ewing!
